Waiting for Daddy

Will likes to wait outside for Daddy to come home from work, and we've created quite the set up.  

He insisted on wearing the bucket hat, although it is clearly too small.

If looks could kill...

His favorite part about being outside in the afternoons is hearing the ice cream truck in the distance!  He doesn't like ice cream (crazy, right??), so we just wave as the truck passes by our house.  

Sunday in Macon

My cousin Monica is expecting her first baby girl in November, and my mom and I went to Macon one Sunday afternoon to celebrate with her.  It was beautiful and a lot of fun!  (Unfortunately, I don't have any pics from the shower.)  And of course, Will LOVES visiting with Aunt Deborah and Uncle Mark.  His eyes really lit up when Aunt Deb brought down her trunk of toys filled with his favorite things...hats!  Our time with them is always filled with lots of laughter, and this trip was no exception.  I love my family. :)

And even though the light was off in the dining room, Will made his way to Grandaddy again.  He talked to him for a little while, then pointed to Grandaddy's eye and said, "eye" for the first time.

 As always, we had a great time and were sad to leave!

Vertical Reality 2012

I spent a weekend in September at Sharp Top Cove in the beautiful mountains of North Georgia with my small group girls and the rest of the BBCC Inside Out students (about 560 for the weekend).  It was an amazing weekend that I needed and will never forget.  Our small group grew so much closer with each other and our relationship with the Lord.  

The subject of the weekend was prayer.  Sounds boring, right?  It wasn't.  

We were presented with a new way of thinking about prayer.

 How do we usually pray?  "Lord, give me, protect me and bless me."  

That's not necessarily a bad thing.  But Jesus taught us a better way to pray.

  

"Lord, I want to know you."

 "Lord, take the lead."

 "Lord, use me." 

These are three prayers the Lord will always answer.  This is how we plan on teaching our kids to pray.  Since I've been praying those simple prayers the past few weeks, God has moved drastically in my life.  If you feel like you need to hear from God, pray those three sentences.  Then, get ready because he will answer them and move in your heart.

September in Pictures

Wayne was out of town for two and a half weeks in September, so Will and I had to find lots of ways to stay happy and entertained.  I'm happy to report, we all survived.

Where did it go?

While we were home playing with all kinds of hats and wearing shoes that are too big, Wayne and the rest of the showNets crew were busy building the largest network they've ever designed or built for Dreamforce.  They got some great feedback on Twitter from some of the 90k attendees.

A few days before Wayne got back, my mom and I took Will to Chili's for a St. Jude's fund raiser.  Will had a lot of fun jumping in the bouncy house, sitting in the fire truck and meeting the police officer, but I think his favorite part was the monkey balloon.

After leaving Chili's, we headed over to Barnes and Noble for a little bit where Will played with the Lego's.  (Check out his Fire Chief sticker still on his shirt.)

 Will loves being a fireman.  It's in his blood.

A few days later, Wayne came home while Will was napping.  When Will woke up, he was so happy to see his daddy!  The video didn't turn out, but this is a picture of the video of Will seeing Wayne for the first time.

Then father and son got right to playing.  

I was happy for there to be another head for the drum "hat" to go on.

With the start of football, Will likes to show off his new trick. Touchdown!!
