Since Will is too young to go trick or treating, I needed places to go to show off his cute costume! I met my friend Megan (from my mom group) with her 6-month old son Jackson and Megan's cousin with their 6.5-month old son Griffin for lunch. Will and Jackson were both little monkeys. Aren't they adorbs?
After lunch, I took Will by my old office to visit my former co-workers. He had a lot of fun showing off his costume and visiting my co-workers/friends. This is Will with one of the financial advisors I used to work for ... for whom I used to work. (I can't stand ending a sentence in a preposition.)
When we left the office, Will immediately fell asleep in the car. I knew this would be his only nap, so I wanted to make it a good one. We would have made it home in 25 minutes, so I decided to stay on the road and drive up to Wayne's office to surprise him. Will liked having another chance to show off his costume at his daddy's office.
We live in a large neighborhood with lots of kids, so instead of dealing with the doorbell ringing every couple of minutes, we sat on our front porch to hand out candy. It's so fun to see the families and droves of kids walking around the neighborhood. We knew the trick-or-treaters would start coming around 6pm, so I went next door beforehand to see our neighbors baby boy (he's 9 weeks younger than Will) and to take pictures of Will on their haystack. As I was knocking on their door, I was bombarded by this mob of kids.
They surrounded me (baby-in-arms), held out their buckets and said, "Trick or Treat!" I quickly let them know that this was not my house and that they could bombard my neighbors when they opened the door. Ha!
I watched helplessly as they ran next door to our house. I was wishing I could warn Wayne, but those kids are fast! He was still inside and not prepared for the kiddos yet. When he opened the door, the kids practically pushed him in the house! He was trying to keep the dog in and the kids out. That's why we sit on the front porch. Preemptive strike.
Seconds after they got their candy, they were on to the next house!
Isn't my little monkey cute?
We enjoyed the rest of the evening outside. Will had fun on Wayne's shoulders while I passed out candy to the kids.
How much do you looove that monkey suit??
Our pumpkin masterpieces from our trip to the pumpkin patch. Wayne carved an angry bird, and I carved an owl. (Apparently we were going for a bird theme.) The angry bird pumpkin was a HUGE hit with the kids! Who knew kids liked that game as much as we do?
Ready for the trick-or-treaters!
After a full day, we had one tired little monkey!
Happy Halloween!
