One Month

He grows and changes so much every day, it's hard to keep up with all of the changes.  Around week 3, he developed a rash pretty much all over his body.  Poor guy inherited his super-sensitive skin from both mommy and daddy.  The rash on his body was apparently eczema and the rash on his face was caused from the cradle cap on his head.  Once we got that under control, the rash on his face cleared up.

Will's favorite thing to do is look at either the big fan in the family room or the blinds.  He loves those blinds!  We read that newborns like looking at lines because they look like they're moving.

After his one-month birthday, Wayne had to leave for his first work trip for 11 days.  That was incredibly tough!  My mom stayed with me and helped me with Will.  It was during that time that I started implementing nap time in his crib.  Since he was already used to sleeping in his crib, it wasn't too tough of a transition.  I started realizing what his "sleepy cues" were, and we developed a good routine.  He also started sleeping 4-hour stretches occasionally at night.  When Wayne got back home, one of the first things he said to me was how much smaller I looked, especially in my face.  It was such a nice and unexpected compliment!  Will got bigger and I got smaller. :)

We love watching his reflexes, especially when he's hungry.  "Rooting" is one of the funniest things ever.  I call him my little "roto rooter".  It's one of my favorite things he does. :)  He's also super cute when he's sucking his paci.  I love the noises he makes!!

Here are his stats from his one-month check up:
Weight: 9.75lbs, 52nd percentile
Height: 21.75 inches, 56th percentile
Head Circumference: 14.5in, 20th percentile

One month old! 3/20/11

I had to capture his full head of hair before it all falls out!
