Gidget stayed at my parents until Will was 3 weeks old (thanks mom and dad!!). It was very nice because Gidget is the most high-maintenance dog ever. We were also concerned with how she would react to Will because she's not used to small children (much less a baby) and we were afraid she'd try to bark at him or snap at him or something along those lines. Wayne was playing golf when my parents brought her, so I asked my dad to record it thinking it would be funny. Not so much...
When Wayne got home, I thought Gidget might be a little more interested in Will if Wayne tried the introduction...
She's still completely not interested in him. I guess it's nicer than if she were interested in him because I never have to worry about her bothering him or even going near him if I leave him on the floor and need to walk away. She does have to be right next to me when I'm feeding him, though. If we're on the couch, she's on the couch. If we're in the big chair, she's in the big chair. If I'm feeding him in his room, she comes in and lies down at the feet of the glider. She's also shown a little bit of protectiveness when others have come into the house, but nothing major. We're very thankful that she's taken so well to him and doesn't seem to be bothered too much by his crying!
*side note: he's so much older now, I can't believe how tiny he was in these videos! and his cry has changed! so glad we have these.
